Ace Hardware Exec Rick Whitson to Retire

rwhitson_thumbnail_webRick Whitson, vice president of distribution, will retire Dec. 31 from Ace Hardware Corp. after 37 years with the company.

Whitson has a long history of contributions to the co-op’s retail support area. During his career, he directed the operational startup of the La Crosse, Wisconsin; Moxee, Washington; and Princeton, Illinois, retail support centers. He also oversaw each of the retail support centers for many years.

Whitson led several of the retail support initiatives Ace currently has, such as containerization, voice pick with scanning and slotting software.

In addition, he led the successful opening of the Wilmer, Texas, and West Jefferson, Ohio, retail support centers in the same year.

Whitson is known for his deep knowledge of distribution processes and for his passion for serving Ace retailers, according to Ace Hardware.
