Fence In Products With Pallets

Here’s a merchandising idea retailers noticed at a recent buyers’ market: wooden shipping pallets used to enclose product categories on display.

At the Ace Hardware Spring 2015 Convention & Exhibits, pallets were nailed together and set up around Christmas trees, creating a rustic fence in a walkable woods of colorfully lit artificial timber.

The pallet fencing idea could be used in a variety of categories for merchandise display. The pallets could be arranged as decorative fences in your farm and ranch category, or to separate sections of your garden department.

Something to note: Treated wooden pallets could contain bacteria from products shipped on them, or insecticides used to prevent pests from entering the U.S. Keep in mind that depending on where and how you use them, you may need to wash or bleach the pallets before installing them.
