Former Builders Square President Dies

Frank Denny, former president of big-box home improvement retailer Builders Square, died July 2 at the age of 79.

The former president of W.R. Grace and Co.’s home center division, Denny was chosen to manage the expansion of Home Centers of America when Kmart purchased the chain in 1984. As part of the expansion, the chain was renamed Builders Square.

By 1997, Builders Square operated 162 stores across the United States and in Puerto Rico.
