Frank Tooke, Former AHMA Chairman, Passes Away

Former American Hardware Manufacturer’s Association (AHMA) chairman Frank Tooke passed away Thursday.

Tooke was from Raleigh, N.C., and was born on July 5, 1939 in Windsor, Ontario. He died Sept. 19 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

Tooke lived in Canada and England before arriving in Raleigh in 1978. He worked for CooperTools for more than 30 years, then spent time in New Jersey with Red Devil, Inc. where he was a board member until his death. He was also on the AHMA board, where he was chairman in 1994 and 2002.

Tooke is survived by his wife Marta, son Richard, daughter-in-law Karin and grandsons Will and Ben. He is also survived by his sister Gloria Jean McDowell of Mississauga, Ontario, sister-in-law Karen of Barrie, Ontario, and his five nieces.
