Home Depot Cuts Its Installation Staff

Home Depot is laying off employees within its U.S. exterior installation staff, Business Insider reports.

According to the article, the layoffs affect fewer than 1,000 employees.

“After reviewing the installation business, we’ve decided it’s right to wind down our roofing, siding, insulation, and gutters installation programs,” a Home Depot representative tells Business Insider. “We’re only exiting these four installation programs, so we’ll continue to offer dozens of other installation services.”

The representative points out the job cuts affect “an extremely small percentage of [its] overall workforce,” and the company is attempting to match those affected with other positions within the company.

On its website, Home Depot advertises its installation services are accomplished by “home service professionals who meet the highest standards for experience, know-how and customer service.”
