The national “buy local” movement Independent We Stand is currently accepting nominations for the 2013 Independent Small Business of the Year Award Sponsored by Chrysler Group. The award celebrates the characteristics that make locally owned, independent businesses unique, like quality products, superior customer service and active community involvement.
Each year, the Indie Award is given to an outstanding small business to recognize the difference that the nominated business makes in its community. Any independently owned business is eligible to receive the award.
This year, the winning business will receive a prize package valued at more than $15,000. The package includes a $5,000 American Express gift card, a $1,000 STIHL certificate, a three-day/two-night stay at an independent beach resort in Virginia Beach, Va., a “Small Business Web Starter Package” from independent web design firm Launch Interactive, a commemorative plaque and more.
