With the unexpected passing of her father in 2010, Ytsma was thrust into a leadership position as the only family member working in the store. Her steady leadership helped guide the store through the difficult time, while still managing to increase sales in both 2011 and 2012. The store also received the Proud of My Home Award in 2012, recognizing it as the top Home Hardware store in the area.
Kim Ytsma is one of 8 winners of this year’s Young Retailer of the Year Award.
