Member Insurance Agency Announces New Advisory Committee

Member Insurance Agency, Inc., the largest provider of insurance to co-op and independent hardware stores in the U.S., has a new advisory committee composed of retailers that will help guide the agency in delivering customized insurance products for the hardware and building supply channel.

“After 44 years, we remain dedicated to building a tremendous insurance program for our policyholders, and feel we can create an even stronger, more tailored program through the entrepreneurship and formation of the Member Insurance Agency Advisory Committee,” Member Insurance CEO Scott Reynolds says.

“The Advisory Committee will help us to identify opportunities, promote growth, innovate and welcome more and better members to the program. Additionally, the Advisory Committee will allow us to discover new ways retain members, and help the next generation of retailers gain the insurance knowledge and tools they need to successfully protect their business.”

The new Member Insurance Agency Advisory Committee consists of four diverse leaders who will serve three-year terms. Committee members have a thorough understanding of Member Insurance Agency and the retail co-op industry.

The members of the advisory committee are:

  • Bruce Ellis, committee chairman. He is president and CEO of Roswell Lumber Co., which has two Do it Center locations in Roswell, New Mexico, and Artesia, New Mexico, and an Overhead Door franchise serving southeastern New Mexico. Ellis has served on the board of directors for Member Insurance for many years, holding several leadership roles on the board and its committees.
  • John Fix III, owner of Cornell’s True Value Hardware in Eastchester, New York. Fix has previously served on the board of directors for Member Insurance, including several years as chairman.
  • Steve Fusek, president of Fusek’s True Value Hardware in Indianapolis. Fusek has held numerous leadership roles in the retail hardware industry as well as the racing industry.
  • Dan Berry, Dan serves as president of Paradise Home Center, a third generation lumber and hardware store serving the community of Union, South Carolina.

The North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) and Member Insurance Agency work together to provide new insurance services and educational presentations to association members.
