New Vendors and Credit Card Program at January House-Hasson Dealer Market

At the House-Hasson 2019 Dealer Market, attendees will preview products from more than 700 vendors, a 15 percent increase over last year’s event.

Retailer-specific credit cards are also a new feature to this year’s event, which takes place Jan. 10-12 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. These private-label credit cards can be used by House-Hasson’s independent hardware and lumberyard retailers to make available for their customers.

The January market is usually the biggest event of House-Hasson’s three annual markets, according to Don Hasson, president of House-Hasson Hardware.

“Dealers are setting up for spring and planning for the entire year, and our markets promote dealer profitability. With everything the market and Nashville have to offer, our customers and their families enjoy this event,” says Hasson.

Introducing New Vendors

At the January dealer market, new vendors will present their latest products to help retailers diversify their inventories. Jason Monroe, merchandising vice president, says the market is a good opportunity for retailers ahead of the busy spring selling season.

“We have new vendors at the market based on retailer requests, and our research shows these will benefit retailers and their customers,” Monroe says. “The majority are home and garden-related, as retailers will be stocking up on spring product lines.”

New vendors include Danner Manufacturing, which specializes in outdoor water features; MTD, which will present a new line of lawnmowers; and Pylex, which manufactures metal and PVC fencing and decorative deck accessories.

A New Credit Card Program

At 3 p.m. on Jan. 10, House-Hasson has scheduled a seminar to present information on a relationship it has forged with Synchrony Bank. One of the benefits of this partnership for retailers is a private-label credit card program.

“Retailers who join this program through Synchrony Bank can offer private-label credit cards with their name on it—just like a bank, airline or other type of credit card—and receive private-label financing through Synchrony,” says Taylor Hasson, marketing vice president. “The card is an advantage for retailers and their customers because it makes big-ticket item purchases easier in that it allows for private-label financing for purchases.”

House-Hasson Hardware is America’s largest independent regional hardware distributor, operating in 21 states and the Caribbean Basin. For more information about the distributor and this year’s January dealer market, visit the company online.
