Visitors from around the globe attending the National Hardware Show list discovering new products as the main reason for attending every year, and the 2019 Show didn’t disappoint. Beyond new vendors, the NHS crew once again offered the New Product Launch Awards, featuring new products that hadn’t yet hit the market. The winning products were voted on by a panel of industry judges, making them hot items to watch for in the new year.
First Place
Rhino Cart. This new all-terrain moving cart is a double winner, receiving a 2019 Retailers’ Choice award in addition to the New Product Launch Award. The cart’s innovative design, which includes eight heavy-duty urethane wheels, simplifies the effort required from homeowners and professionals to move large and heavy items around the home or job site. Specifically designed to conquer uneven and rough surfaces, the Rhino Cart keeps going in locations where a traditional dolly can get stuck, like door thresholds or uneven sidewalks. Second Place
G-Rex Adjustable Bungee Cord. This multi-purpose, premium cord from National Hardware, comes equipped with a shock absorbing general utility cord that adjusts from seven inches all the way to six feet. It also features an interchangeable, slip-resistant head for a variety of uses; wall-mountable access for easy-storage and security; and a patent-pending design mechanism that allows for easier adjustability with superior hold strength. The G-Rex is manufactured to military standards and has UV resistant coating.
Third Place
DynaTrap® DOT™. Provided by Dynamic Solutions Worldwide, LLC, the DOT is the most compact indoor pest control solution in the DynaTrap Fly Trap line. The small outlet trap, disguised as a night light with an LED bulb, is designed to attract a variety of household insects, including fruit flies, house flies, moths and mosquitoes. Bugs are captured on the back of the decorative StickyTech™ glue card. The card can be removed and replaced every 21-30 days. The DOT offers protection for up to 400-square-feet of space. It is pesticide and odor free.
Honorable Mention
Power Pro Cement Board Screws. Offered by Hillman Group, these screws are designed to fasten cement board to wood or light-gauge metal studs for a variety of home improvement projects, including bathtub/shower installations, and countertop and flooring applications. They have a textured surface for better mortar adhesion and are ribbed under the screw head for a crack-resistant seating. The thread design also provides a faster and easier drive. The 1000-hour gray, ceramic coating offers the best in corrosion protection.
