Social Media Counters Encourage Followers

While fellow independent home improvement retailers offer some great insights on operations and running a successful business, sometimes other retailers and outside businesses can offer helpful best practices. Lindsey Thompson, senior content manager for the North American Hardware and Paint Association, recently visited two businesses outside the home improvement industry that were creatively working to gain social media followers using social media counters.

Java House Indy has six locations in the Indianapolis area, including the Broad Ripple location where customers can see at the checkout counter how many followers the store has. The sign is prominently displayed at the counter and fits into the store’s aesthetic.

The Bardstown Bourbon Co. in Bardstown, Kentucky, also has a similar sign encouraging customers to following them on Facebook and Instagram while tracking the current number of followers.

From hiring a marketing company to using current employees to manage social media, see how these retailers have built their own following on all the popular social media channels.
