Colorado Springs Ace Hardware Stores Offering Free Composting

Colorado Springs Ace Hardware stores are teaming up with a local garden store to help customers compost yard waste. Ace Hardware and Don’s Garden Shops are helping local residents by making it easier to compost. Ace Hardware will provide free 30-gallon compostable paper bags that customers can bring to Don’s Garden Shop when full. This promotion will be going on through the end of November.

This partnership is a great push towards sustainability and brings two local retail operations together. As mentioned in Fox21’s article, “According to the Environment Protection Agency, 18 percent of the average landfill space is made up of yard waste.” Offering these free bags gets customers into the store and makes them more environmentally conscious.

Consider what local retailers are in your area to create a partnership. Bringing the community together for a cause that affects all homeowners is a great way to garner additional traffic and loyalty.
