Do it Best Teams Up With Independent We Stand

Last week, Do it Best Corp. announced its support of all small businesses across the U.S. through its partnership with Independent We Stand, a movement of independent business owners sharing the importance of “buying local” in their communities.

According to the co-op, Do it Best Corp. will work alongside co-sponsors STIHL Inc. and FC US LLC to “continue to increase awareness about the importance and strong economic benefits of buying local through marketing campaigns, social media and strong partnerships.”

Through this new partnership with Independent We Stand, Do it Best store owners will have access to tools they can use to promote the “Buy Local” movement in their businesses along with a discount on premium membership with Independent We Stand, says Randy Rusk, communications director for Do it Best Corp.

“Our members live, work and contribute to the success of their communities every day,” says Dan Starr, president and CEO of Do it Best Corp. “It only makes sense that we’d partner with a buy local movement since it’s already in our members’ DNA. Efforts to bring greater awareness to the importance of buying local clearly resonate with our member-owners. It exemplifies who we are and who we are all here to serve nationwide.”

In addition to access to tools, Do it Best members will also gain visibility within the Independent We Stand app and website when a consumer searches for local hardware stores, home centers and lumberyards, Rusk explains.

According to Bill Brunelle, co-founder of Independent We Stand, the partnership with Do it Best Corp. will continue to promote its mission.

“A big part of our mission is to educate consumers about the importance and strong economic benefits of supporting locally-owned businesses,” Brunelle says. “With Do it Best Corp.’s 3,800 independently owned locations, Independent We Stand now has 3,800 communities to promote the cause, all while helping Do it Best member-owners understand and leverage their locally owned status.”

At Do it Best’s recent Winter Conference, Rusk says they had the opportunity to debut some of the new tools and promotional materials to members, who were very interested.

“We’re very pleased to engage the expertise and proven track record of the Independent We Stand team as we partner to support independent Do it Best members,” Rusk says. “We’re very optimistic for the year ahead as we commit to helping our members grow and achieve the dreams.”
