Do it Best Corp. Welcomes Home Hardware’s Young Retailers to 2014 Winter Conference

Vendor showcases, leadership development workshops and the inclusion of a select group of participants from Canada will be the highlight of the 2014 Do it Best Corp. Winter Conference, Jan. 20-22, at the Walt Disney World® Swan Resort in Orlando, Fla.

The annual Winter Conference is designed to equip the co-op’s independent member-owners with a variety of best practices designed to enhance their businesses in 2014 and beyond. The three-day event is produced in collaboration with the Disney Institute and includes experiential learning sessions on Disney’s approach to leadership, collaboration, creativity and innovation.

Lee Cockerell, retired executive vice president of Walt Disney World, will lead an in-depth session on topics selected by Do it Best members who attended his October market keynote presentation on “The 39 Essential Rules for Delivering Sensational Service.”

In addition, Do it Best Corp. will welcome 50 young retailers from Home Hardware, a Canada-based hardware co-op with more than 1,000 members throughout the country. Do it Best Corp. will facilitate special meetings for this combined group of the two co-ops’ young retailers.

“We look forward to another educational and entertaining Winter Conference for our members,” said Bob Taylor, president and CEO of Do it Best Corp. “We are especially excited to welcome our colleagues from Home Hardware and together provide an event that makes everyone stronger and even more successful retailers.”

Participating conference attendees also will have the opportunity to take part in new product showcases and buying opportunities with exclusive participating vendors. Business sessions will be interspersed with networking activities, including a visit to SeaWorld, a golf outing and a reception on Lake Terrace.
