Alyssa Tolzda from Modern Home and Hardware in Woodsfield, Ohio, is attending the Fall 2015 class of the North American Retail Hardware Association’s (NRHA) Retail Management Certification Program thanks to a $6,250 scholarship sponsored by Do it Best Corp.

Developed in conjunction with Butler University, the program is a college-level course designed to train future retail leaders within the home improvement industry advanced retail management and leadership concepts and skills that will help them advance in their careers.

Next month, Tolzda will travel to Indianapolis to attend class along with other independent retailers from throughout the United States and Canada. Students will return to Indianapolis to attend class sessions in November and again in January 2016 during the six-month program. They will also receive individual business coaching and initiate a major business improvement project for the semester to help provide a return on investment in attending the course.

“I believe that the NRHA Retail Management Certification Program and scholarship from Do it Best Corp. will be a fantastic start to help me develop a stronger background in business leadership and management,” says Tolzda. “I see this as a great opportunity not only for myself, but for all the people I work with, because I will be able to share the knowledge and skills that I acquire from this program.”

“We’re delighted that Do it Best Corp. provided this scholarship for Alyssa to attend the Fall 2015 class,” says Scott Wright, executive director of NRHA’s Retail Leadership Institute, which developed the program in conjunction with Butler University. “She is very deserving and will make the most of this opportunity to further her career so she can continue to help the business grow. This is just one of the many ways Do it Best Corp. continues to support the growth of their members, as well as the industry.”
