Four Ways to Implement Price Matching in Your Store

Here’s how you can make the most out of your store’s price matching policy:

1. The Price is Right. Before you start to advertise price matching, be sure you are priced right on high-profile departments and items. Take some time to work on pricing before advertising the plan. If you are not willing to be priced right, do not call attention to your pricing.

2. Make a Big Deal About It.Advertise your price matching services and add signage in your store stating that you price match.

3. Educate Your Employees.Meet with your employees and make sure they understand that price matching is a positive transaction that should be done with a smile.

4. Make it Simple.Give employees authorization to price match and implement a system to keep track. For example, have employees fill out a price match form and have the customer turn it in to the cashier.
