Further Growth Predicted for Home Improvement Market

Low unemployment, solid existing home sales and growth in product sales in 2018 are among the reasons the Home Improvement Research Institute (HIRI) projects continued sales increases for products in the U.S. home improvement industry.

The consumer market for home improvement products is expected to grow by 5.3 percent in 2019, according to HIRI’s latest market study.

Product categories that will stand out for contributing to consumer sales growth will include plumbing supplies, electrical supplies and siding and exterior trim, the study results show.

HIRI also predicts sales growth of 6 percent for the professional remodeler market in 2019, with siding and exterior trim showing notable sales increases.
