Henery Do It Best Hardware announced plans to open a new store in Bremerton in August. Owner Matthew Henery recently signed a lease on an approximately 26,000 square-foot building in the Wheaton Mall and said the store will employ about 15 people when it opens.
“In Bremerton, just as we have done in the other towns we are located, we want to become the community hardware store,” Henery says. “We will provide great customer service, a fun atmosphere, and a complete selection. We will look to hire people who are retired plumbers, electricians and contractors who have the know-how to meet your needs. Furthermore, we will create an atmosphere where people of all ages enjoy coming to our store, eating free popcorn, having their problems solved and building relationships.”
This will be the fourth Henery Do it Best Hardware location, joining stores in Port Townsend, Kingston and Quilcene. Similar to the other three Henery Do it Best Hardware stores, the new Bremerton location will offer the community a broad selection of hard-to-find hardware items, as well as expansive sections for lawn and garden, paint, plumbing, electrical and more.
In addition to its strong ties to the peninsula, the Henery family has especially close ties to Bremerton; Matthew Henery’s Grandpa and Grandma moved to Bremerton after World War II and his father was born at Harrison Hospital and continued to live in the community for a number of years. Henery Do it Best Hardware has been serving their communities for more than 20 years and is looking forward to a long term relationship with Bremerton as well. The company is a member-owner of Do it Best Corp., an international co-op distributor of hardware, lumber and building material products with over 3,800 member locations in 53 countries.
