Home Hardware Announces New Merchandise Department Directors

Home Hardware Stores Ltd. have announced the appointment of new directors in their merchandise department. These directors will support the company’s strategic growth and will focus on customer-centric category management.

“Home is focused on providing best-in-class assortments to support our vision to be Canada’s most trusted and preferred home improvement retail brand,” says Marianne Thompson, senior vice president, merchandise. “We are thrilled to welcome four new directors to our merchandise leadership team with a focus on customer-centric category management which allows us to improve our customer experience, delivering on the expectations of Canadian shoppers and growth for our dealer-owners.”

The new appointments are:

Tara Spengen who has over 25 years in retail experience at ACI Brands Inc., Korhani Home, Walmart Canada and Hudson’s Bay Company.

Carol Crystal who has almost 20 years in retail experience at Lowe’s Canada, Walmart Canada and Hudson’s Bay.

Craig Thompson who has almost 20 years of leadership retail positions, including his most recent role as commercial planning and analytics leader at Walmart Canada.

Meriyem Kaf joins Home Hardware in a new role as director, merchandise strategy and execution. She has over 14 years of retail industry experience from Walmart Canada, Sobeys and AC Neilsen.
