HPM Building Supply Outlines Building and Product Expansions

HPM Building Supply has announced a major expansion of its business, including the doubling of its footprint on Oahu, Hawaii. Additionally, the business will become Hawaii’s exclusive distributor for SCAFCO steel framing products and expand its inventory to include CertainTeed acoustical ceiling panels and other building materials for commercial interiors.

“By adding steel and commercial interior products to our extensive lineup of lumber, paint, roofing and hardware, we’re able to offer even more for our customers and truly be a one-stop shop for projects of all types and sizes,” says Jason Fujimoto, HPM president and CEO. “HPM is well known for our lumber selection, and our specialization in lumber stretches back 99 years. Now, we can also supply large commercial and residential projects where steel is required or preferred. As a fifth-generation local company, we’re pleased to bring top-notch products like SCAFCO steel framing to Hawaii so that our community can build better and live better.”

As SCAFCO’s exclusive distributor in Hawaii, HPM carries all SCAFCO products at wholesale prices and partners with SCAFCO engineering experts on custom orders. SCAFCO steel framing products are manufactured from completely prime-mill certified steel and exceed industry standards.

“We’re proud to partner with HPM Building Supply as our exclusive distributor in the Hawaii market,” says Larry Stone, SCAFCO president. “When two long-time companies like HPM and SCAFCO come together, the customer wins because of our experience, expertise and dedication to superior quality.”

HPM has also entered the commercial interiors market with the addition of CertainTeed acoustical ceiling panels. CertainTeed acoustical ceiling panels come in smooth, fissured or textured varieties with a wide range of acoustic performance, visuals and price-points. Acoustical ceiling panels are nearly universal across commercial facilities, including offices, schools, hospitals and restaurants.

“As the Oahu construction industry continues to see growth, even during the pandemic, we are excited to expand our capacity and capabilities to better serve our customers,” says Mark Schwinn, HPM Oahu regional manager. “Doubling our footprint is just the first step in our vision to grow our presence on this island.”

In August, HPM Building Supply added four stores in Hawaii by merging with local company Miyake Concrete. Check out the video below for more insights into HPM’s year of growth.
