Menards Adds Midwest Facility to Support Growth

Home improvement chain Menards is expanding in the Midwest, and plans to build a $29.1 million manufacturing and distribution facility to serve its growing business.

The 185,000-square-foot distribution center will be located in Sullivan, Missouri, and  employ 129 people, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The first phase of construction is expected to be completed in 2016.

The new manufacturing and distribution facility will be one of more than six regional centers used to support Menards retail stores.

“We are pleased to have selected Sullivan as we expand our footprint in the Midwest,” Menards spokesman Jeff Abbott says in the St. Louis Business Journal article. “Our new location here in Missouri not only meets our transportation needs, but also give us access to a highly skilled workforce.”

Menards is headquartered in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and operates more than 280 stores in 14 states. The retailer has distribution facilities in Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio and Iowa.
