The deadline to apply for the North American Retail Hardware Association’s (NRHA) Foundations of Leadership program’s Fall 2020 session is Sept. 4.
The Foundations of Leadership program is an online leadership development course for new and upcoming managers. It is designed to fit students’ busy schedules and features collaborative online learning with communication from instructors and other students.
“The NRHA Foundations of Leadership course provides managers with the essential skills necessary to lead people and teams effectively, whether you are new to leading people or have been doing so for years but never went through a formal leadership development program,” says Scott Wright, executive director of NRHA’s Retail Leadership Institute. “The skills students learn in this course will benefit them for their entire careers.”
After completing the online training modules, students work on a capstone assignment where they perform a subjective assessment of their business unit. They apply their new skills to address core issues in their business and make recommendations for improvement in key areas.
The online program was developed with prominent independent home improvement leaders, including retailers from leading national independent chains, to meet the specific needs of leadership development within the home improvement industry.
