Outlook on Millennial Housing

According to a report by the Demand Institute, 79 percent of millennials are optimistic about their financial situation. As a result, 74 percent expect to move within the next five years, resulting in an additional 8.3 million millennial households by 2018.

Reasons Millennials Want to Move:

1. Better home/apartment – 71 percent
2. More privacy or space – 59 percent
3. Establish their own household – 50 percent
4. To own, not rent – 48 percent
