Plan for 2016’s China International Hardware Show

The 15th annual 2015 China International Hardware Show (CIHS) concluded at the end of October in Shanghai, China, and continues on a growth trajectory.

If you’re interested in international insight into the home improvement industry, mark your calendars for Oct. 21-23, 2016. The growing event will be held again next year at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The exhibition space will expand to about 1.7 million square feet in 2016.

CIHS 2016 will continue to use the layout of CIHS 2015, featuring the International Hall, Tools Hall, Building Hardware Hall and the Lockset Hall. Additionally, a Gardening Area will be launched in the East Hall. To make sourcing and buying more convenient for trade buyers, exhibition space will be divided and made more specialized.

New Show Dates and New Exhibition Venue

The brand new show venue offers more space and more opportunities for CIHS, playing an important role in future development of the event. CIHS moved to the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai because the scale and long-term cooperation capability of the new exhibition center better meets the needs of the show and attendees.

Shahadat Hussain from India Sam International attended CIHS for the first time this year.

“I communicated with many manufacturers and factories at the show and they promised me a very good price,” Hussain says.

With the show dates fixed for Oct. 21-23 for the coming years, existing exhibitors and buyers can plan ahead to make their trip to Shanghai include both CIHS and Canton Fair, an import and export fair.

Growth and Changes in 2015

CIHS continues to grow. Approximately 3,000 exhibiting companies and nearly 50,000 visitors participated in CIHS 2015, covering an exhibition space of 1.6 million square feet.

In addition to pavilions from Germany and Taiwan, CIHS 2015 also welcomed national group participation from India, South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong.

CIHS is largest international hardware event in Asia and the second largest in the world. CIHS 2015 grew the number of international pavilions, overseas buyers, domestic exhibitors and buyers. The show has become a one-stop platform for international buyers, as well as an international platform to showcase new products and technologies.

 New Activities and New Services
A few highlights from CIHS 2015 were 22 projects and 33 on-site activities. The Buying Day, the 8th Cutting Grinding & Polishing Applied Technology Forum, new product showcases of China Lockset and Security Innovation Design Competition, China Building Hardware Product Innovation Design Competition and other activities that were popular with the visitors during previous years, CIHS 2015 also released a series of new activities. The new activities included a Match and Meet Program, a Hardware Tour specially designed for the overseas buyers, an Overseas Trade Seminar, which focused on how to access the American and ASEAN markets, as well as a Apply of Robot in the Hardware Industry program.

In order to provide better services and create more convenient experiences for the exhibitors and visitors, the organizers also prepared telephones and Wi-Fi in the exhibition halls. The official WeChat social media group of CIHS released information related to traffic, accommodations and CIHS-related news before and during the event.
