Product Innovations Take Center Stage at International Hardware Fair

One of the biggest benefits to attendees at the International Hardware Fair this week was the ability to see new and innovative products from around the world, many of which will set the stage for trends across North America.

At this year’s show in Cologne, Germany, a number of the most innovative products on display were honored with the Eisen 2016 Innovation Awards, which the International Hardware Fair gave to companies presenting the best ideas, inventions and solutions.

Here is just a sampling of some of these innovative new items that were either nominated for the Eisen Awards or were distinguished as winners.

IHF_1The multifunction lawn and garden tool from TC Tools Inc. (a Canadian-based company and Eisen nominee) allows users to engage in multiple duties without having to switch tools. From cultivation, raking, hoeing and digging this single tool can handle a variety of tasks.

IHF_3This MMA/TIG (nominee) welding system from Fronius GmbH features an integrated high-performance lithium-ion battery pack making it incredibly portable. Adding to the flexibility of lithium-ion power, the welder weighs in at only about 22 pounds and features a proprietary AccuBoost technology that helps maintain arc stability and performance.

IHF_6The High-Speed Alumaster® (winner) grinding disc from PFERD-Werkzeuge was one of the most popular items at the show. The product allows users to engage in high-speed grinding of aluminum materials without the generation of hazardous dust providing an environmentally and health-friendly alternative to other grinding discs.

IHF_4The VDE Torque Wrench (winner) from Hazet-Werk allows users to dismount after use, making it possible for on-the-fly adjustments and recalibration. For these highly precise instruments, this feature is both unique and in demand.

The International Hardware Fair takes place every other year in Cologne, Germany, and is among the largest home improvement industry trade shows in Europe. For more information, go to www.eisenwarenmesse.com.
