Promoting National Fire Prevention Week

Each year in October, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) sponsors National Fire Prevention Week. The week corresponds with the anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire and provides resources on fire safety. This year’s event takes place Oct. 3-9.

It can be an excellent time to promote the sale of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and batteries in your store and remind customers to regularly maintain their fire safety equipment in their homes.

See how one retailer, BTU Do it Center in Las Vegas, New Mexico, makes fire safety a priority, hosting an annual fire safety event at the store in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week.
