Safety First: Using Home Automation for Security

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 1.2 million burglaries took place in the U.S. during 2020, but according to Safewise.com’s The State of Safety in America June 2021 research study, only one in four Americans have a security system. Keep your customers safe by stocking easy-to-use home automation safety products.

Video doorbells. Video doorbells have gained popularity throughout the U.S. and are able to combat package theft and burglaries. Arlo’s Essential Wireless Video Doorbell has two-way audio, night vision and a 180-degree viewing angle that allows full-length viewing. It is also compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant and HomeKit. Google’s Nest Doorbell is easy to set up, doesn’t require a subscription and works well with Google Assistant-powered devices like the Nest Hub. Ring’s Video Doorbell Pro 2 has head-to-toe HD+ video, 3D motion detection and built-in Alexa Greetings.

Home security cameras. Similar to video doorbells, customers can take their safety one step further with home security cameras. Eufy’s eufyCam 2  requires no monthly subscription, records clear video during the day and at night and has a battery that lasts longer than 365 days, the longest on the market. Google’s Nest Cam has facial recognition, HD two-way audio and works with Google Assistant.

Smart locks. Smart locks provide fuss-free home entry and instant automated security. Google’s Nest x Yale Lock is available in satin nickel, oil rubbed bronze and polished brass and features a keypad enabling the use of codes for house entry and a one-touch locking system. Schlage’s Sense™Smart Deadbolt generates codes for guest access and works with HomeKit, Alexa and Google Assistant.
