Third-Generation Ace Hardware Store Opens in Colorado

A new Ace Hardware store is opening in Pine, Colo. The new Moore Lumber and Ace Hardware store, formerly Hutchinson Lumber, is the fourth store the Moore family owns.

The new Moore Lumber and Ace Hardware is owned by Bill Moore Jr. and his son Erin Moore, who is the third generation from the Moore family to own an Ace Hardware in Park County. Bill Moore Sr. and Terry Moore started Moore Lumber and Hardware in 1947 with their first store in Bailey, which Bill Moore Jr. purchased from his parents in 1984. Today, Bill Moore Jr. owns the Moore Lumber and Hardware store in Bailey together with son Erin; a lumberyard and Ace store in Bennett with Jim Sprecker; and a lumberyard and hardware store in Castle Rock with John Jones.

The new Moore Lumber and Ace Hardware store has been designed to reflect the needs of the Pine Junction community. Key product offerings include paint, lawn and garden, hardware, electrical, plumbing, automotive and home decor as well as niche products such as grilling, lumber and building supplies. The store will also serve businesses and contractors. The company’s bookkeeping, delivery and dispatch functions will also operate out of this store.

“Our family has been helping our Park County friends and neighbors with their home improvement needs for more than 65 years,” Bill Moore said. “I’m excited to bring that same small-town, neighborhood service to Pine Junction, and even more excited to be continuing the Moore family traditin by opening this new store with my son.”
