Three Tailgate Tips for Your Store

A good way to generate sales in the tailgating category is to tap into sports fans’ love of competition. There are a variety of different competitions you can host at your store:

  • Ask customers to submit their favorite tailgating recipe for a contest. Host a cook-off so judges can taste-test the entries and give the winner a gift card to your store. Compile all the recipes into a book, which you can sell in your store.
  • Try a unique sell, such as customized cornhole sets. Host a cornhole tournament to advertise the sets, and provide the winner with a discount if he orders his own set from you.
  • Think about your own hobbies, too. If you like to toss around a Frisbee while you’re tailgating, chances are your customers will want to do the same thing, so host a tournament and offer Frisbees with teams’ logos.
