True Value Announces New CFO

This week, True Value Company announced Deborah O’Connor will join the company as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), succeeding current CFO David Shadduck, who left True Value effective April 30.

“We are excited to have Deb O’Connor join True Value,” says John Hartmann, president and CEO of True Value. “Her financial expertise and deep experience in retail make her the right choice for our next CFO. We’ll benefit from her experience in the development of long-term growth plans as well as her skill in budgeting and forecasting within fast-paced retail environments.”

O’Connor comes to True Value with a wealth of retail experience, having worked in various finance roles over the last 25 years. Most recently, she spent seven years at OfficeMax, where she was the senior vice president of integration and finance, playing a critical role in the OfficeMax and Office Depot merger. Since 2008, she has held a number of finance leadership roles, including interim CFO and senior vice president and chief accounting officer.

Shadduck, who was with True Value for nearly 14 years, was instrumental in guiding the cooperative during significant periods of challenge when he first joined the company in 2001 and later helping to navigate the organization through one of the greatest economic downturns this nation has seen.

“We are grateful to Dave for his many contributions to True Value and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” says Hartmann.
