Paint and coatings brand Valspar recently announced its color of the year, choosing 12 different shades to share the honor. The 12 colors create a palette that the company hopes will invoke feelings of positivity, solace and comfort in consumers’ homes. Valspar’s color experts chose the colors based on global lifestyle trends, culture, media, fashion, design, food and technology.
“Colors can power moods, energizing us with confidence, strength and curiosity and allowing us to express ourselves with color anywhere, whether it be a full room, an accent wall, trim or furniture,” says Sue Kim, Valspar color marketing manager. “Valspar’s 2022 Colors of the Year provide consumers a wide range of naturally based warm colors that will not only help calm the nerves and boost the mood but also provide a confidence in what the future may hold.”
The 12 Colors of the Year include Blanched Thyme, Gilded Linen, Delightful Moon, Lilac Lane, Mountain River, Orchid Ash, Grey Suit, Subtle Peach, Rustic Oak, Sunset Curtains, Country Charm and Fired Earth. Each of the colors was photographed in real homes, showing consumers how the colors fit in any lifestyle and design scheme.
Behr Paint also recently released its Color of the Year, Breezeway, a silvery green shade with cool undertones.
