Walmart Adds Mobile Checkout for Holiday Shopping

Walmart is adding mobile checkout options to its Supercenter locations ahead of the busy holiday shopping season, the big-box retailer confirms in a recent press release.

The program, called Check Out With Me, rolls out to all Supercenter locations on Nov. 1. It equips Walmart employees with cellular tablets and Bluetooth printers to help customers check out quickly and bypass congested registers.

The company says it is positioning Check Out With Me employees at the busiest parts of its stores, including the lawn and garden and electronics departments as well as throughout “action alley,” the company’s power aisle.

Walmart says Check Out With Me, custom store maps on shoppers’ smartphones and its recently redesigned website are some of the ways it is helping customers shop conveniently throughout the holiday season.
