Stine Home and Yard has announced Wendy Stine has become the newest president of Stine, LLC.
Stine CEO and former president Dennis Stine says he is pleased to see an experienced member of the Stine team take this vital role.
“Today marks an exciting time in the history of our company,” says Dennis Stine. “Wendy Stine has exemplified true leadership in the many roles she has served in her 30-plus year career at Stine.”
Wendy Stine began her career with the company in 1988 working at the DeRidder store while in high school. She graduated from McNeese State University in 1994 where she earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing.
Throughout her 33 years with the company, she has held many roles: manager of the DeRidder store from 2008-2012, corporate purchasing buyer from 2012-2019 and most recently, director of merchandising from 2019-2021.
Wendy has also managed special projects for the company such as Hurricane Gustav relief efforts, U.S. Virgin Islands Rebuild Program following Hurricane Maria and co-coordinator of the Stine Expo.
She is also active in community efforts serving on the board of directors for Chamber SWLA and the Alliance Foundation, as well as the Southwest Louisiana Better Business Bureau. She is a past board member of the Greater Beauregard Parish Chamber of Commerce.
She currently serves as a member on the Ace Hardware Paint Retail Input Team and is an advisor to the board for Allied Building Stores.
Wendy is the granddaughter of the late J.W. Stine who began the business in 1946. She serves as president of the Stine Family Council and on the Stine board of directors.
“As a third generation member, I am honored to be selected to lead this great organization that my grandfather started 75 years ago,” Wendy Stine says. “I look forward to working with the excellent leaders and dedicated associates of our company to serve our customers and communities.”
Dennis Stine will continue to serve as CEO while Wendy Stine assumes the responsibilities of president. Following his position as Commissioner of Administration for the state of Louisiana under Gov. Charles “Buddy” Roemer, Dennis has served in several offices at the company, including president and CEO since the late 1990s.
“I am confident that Wendy will lead our company with passion holding true the vision, mission and values of our company,” Dennis says. “I am happy for her and excited for our future.”
