Jonathan Miller, 2015 Young Retailer of the Year Award winner, received a partial scholarship from the National Hardware Show® to attend the NRHA Retail Management Certification Program.
Miller was awarded the $5,000 scholarship at the Young Retailer of the Year awards ceremony on May 4 in Las Vegas.
Miller will attend the Fall 2015 session of the class, which is scheduled to begin in September.
“As our company begins to embrace a turn toward fourth-generation ownership, future success is reliant on the direction and guidance provided by key leadership positions,” Miller says. “The scholarship from the National Hardware Show to attend the Retail Management Certification Program is principal in fostering such leadership skills. I look forward to taking full advantage of the program as well as collaboratively improving the independent channel.”
Participating in the college-level program will allow Miller to continue developing his leadership and retail management capabilities, network with others in the industry and complete a major business improvement project that will generate a return on investment for his sponsoring business, Miller Hardware Company in Valdosta, Georgia.
